The <null> Literal

In spreadsheets, <null> represents a null value. It is case-insensitive — <NULL>, <Null>, and <null> all mean the same thing.

Spreadsheets lack a native way to represent a null value. A blank cell cannot simply mean null because it may denote a missing value rather than an intentional null, and is additionally reserved for the default export value mechanism. <null> serves as an explicit escape hatch to force a field to be null.
